About us

My name is Sherrie and I am the owner and founder of Dusty Belle Candles. In 2022 a chain of events out of anyone’s control led me to pour my first little batch of candles in February of 2023. I never dreamed that those first, six little candles would lead me to owning my own business and being so totally and completely in love with what I get to do.

Those first candles were ok, really just mediocre. Not great but certainly not terrible. Oh but I was hooked! I knew I could do better so I began to research and study and test,test,test and test some more. The process led to what I bring to you today.

The wax we use is non-toxic and is free from parabens and phthalates. Your candle is also made with a cotton core wick which you really don’t have to worry about because lead wicks were banned years ago. We only purchase our ingredients and supplies from the most reputable candle suppliers on U.S. soil. We even refuse to buy our glass from big box online stores. We are confident we are bringing nothing but the best to the table.

I could stop there with the about us but there’s a few other things I’d really like to tell you.

I hand-pour every single product myself at the time of this writing. I started out in 2 small bedrooms, but as of January 2026 I am happy to say I now have a production studio located right here on the family farm in the rolling hills of NW Arkansas.

The name Dusty Belle stems from the simple fact that I’d rather be outdoors playing in the dirt than playing Belle of the Ball. I enjoy working in my flower gardens and baling hay in the summer with my husband.

There’s one other thing I’d like to share with you…

Those circumstances I mentioned in the beginning, well, they had me feeling like my life was falling apart at the seams. Knowing I couldn’t figure it out on my own, I turned it all over to God and asked Him to show me the way. I know without a doubt He led me to the candles and put me on this incredible journey. It hasn’t always been easy (He never said it would be) but I know He has guided me the whole way.

Years ago I strayed from Him. I ran as fast as I could from Him. One day a lady I didn’t even know gave me a little 2x2 laminated card, and on it read “Be still and know that I am God, Ps. 46:10.”

It didn’t happen overnight, but that little card set things in motion that led me back to Him.

All of our candles come to you in a gift box and included in the box is a 2x2 card with a scripture. My hope is that at least one of those cards finds its way to exactly the person that needs it. Maybe someday you’ll pass it on to just that person. I do hope that you find the one you receive as uplifting and encouraging as it is meant to be.

I didn’t start out thinking of including a scripture with the candles. I feel like that is what He has led me to do and so that is exactly what I will continue to do.

I pour every candle by hand and I pour my heart into every single one of them. I do hope you enjoy them.
